Motorola starts rolling out Moto G (2nd Gen) Marshmallow update


The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the second-generation Motorola Moto G has started rolling out. The update is currently hitting both 3G and LTE-enabled variants in India.  The update brings along the usual Marshmallow goodies, including Doze, Google Now on Tap, and redesigned app permissions.

New update to WhatsApp's BB10 app brings Web link previews


WhatsApp for BlackBerry 10 has received a new update,  brings along several improvements and fixes. As per the change log, the update adds support for Web link previews for outgoing messages. In addition, the updated app now also supports additional web client features, including Message info and recent emoji sync, as well as includes better organization of phone numbers on the Contact Info screen.

Google has announced that it will be switching to HTML5 100% for its ad networks, dropping the existing Flash format. This will enable the ads to be playable on a vast majority of the devices, such as on mobile, where Flash is not supported.

Moto G now available on Amazon India


Amazon has announced that it will now be selling the Moto G smartphones in India. Previously, Flipkart had exclusive rights to sell these devices. The pricing for all the models is identical to Flipkart, that is, INR 9999 ($147) for the 8GB Moto G, INR 10,999 ($162) for the 16GB Moto G, and INR 12,499 ($184) for the Moto G Turbo.

Google launches flood alerts feature in India


Google has announced that it's introducing its flood alerts feature in India. The feature will be available through Google Public Alerts, Clicking on an alert will display related details such as a map, expected timeline, as well as tips on how to stay safe. It is Accessible through both the Desktop and mobile, these alerts will be available on the company's web search, Google Maps, Google Now cards in the Google app, as well as on the Public Alerts.
