Nextbit starts selling its cloud-focused Robin smartphone


Nextbit's cloud-focused Robin smartphone, which recently started shipping to the initial 1,000 backers of the company's kickstarter campaign, is now available for purchase. Carrying a $399 price tag, the device is now listed on the company's website. Both mint and midnight color options are available for purchase.


Nvidia fixes WiFi issues, releases Shield Tablet and Tablet K1 Marshmallow update again


Nvidia started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the original Shield Tablet earlier this month, but the roll-out was soon halted after there were user reports of the update causing Wi-Fi issues with the device. The good news is that those issues have been fixed, and the roll-out has resumed


Apple fixed Error 53, modified Touch ID sensor won't brick iPhone




Apple changed its mind about Error 53 being a security feature and allows a phone with a modified Touch ID sensor to function with the Touch ID feature disabled.. The public backlashed and Apple did what it needed for customers to be happy. Apple apologized and released a patch to iOS 9.2.1 that will disable the bricking feature that Error 53 was causing.

Twitter adds video sharing option in direct messaging

Twitter is focused on adding new features to its service.  Yesterday Twitter launched the GIF button, which allows you to search and embed gifs from a rich catalog that's been put together by Giphy and Riffsy. Today, Twitter launched  another feature - video sharing within the Direct Messages. You can now Twitter  share a video via the Direct Messages, which turns the Direct Messages even closer to a full-blown messaging service.  The update to Direct Messages is already available for Android and iOS, as well as on the regular web version. Twitter already increased the character limit up to 10,000 symbols for the direct messages, among other improvements.

Microsoft Launches 25 Person Group Video Calling for Skype


Microsoft has announced the launch of 25 person Skype group video calling.

This feature is currently rolling out now to users on iPhone, iPad, and Android in Western Europe and North America. The roll-out in these markets should be completed over the next week or so with full availability worldwide expected in March.

New Windows 10 Mobile build rolling out to Lumia 950/950 XL and 550


Microsoft has started rolling out the February update for Windows 10 Mobile to non-Windows Insiders. The update, which bumps the device to to 10586.107, is currently hitting Lumia 950, 950 XL, and 550.

 The update brings along improvements related to reliability, stability, Bluetooth connectivity, battery usage, update system, as well as Microsoft Edge's PDF rendering and navigation


Freedom 251 ordering suspended


A smartphone costing $4 was always going to be a hit, but Indian company Ringing Bells had to learn the hard way exactly how much so. At 600,000 hits per second  its website could not handle all the traffic and orders had to be suspended.

Ringing Bells is working on a solution and promises that all will be back to normal within 24 hours.

Google has announced that it's now possible to use Gmail without an @gmail email address.


Google Translate adds support for 13 new languages


Google has announced that its Translate service now supports 13 new languages. This brings the total number of supported languages to 103

 The newly-added languages include Amharic, Corsican, Frisian, Kyrgyz, Hawaiian, Kurdish (Kurmanji), Luxembourgish, Samoan, Scots Gaelic, Shona, Sindhi, Pashto, and Xhosa. G
