Samsung to build a R&D center in Vietnam


Samsung is about to start the construction of its Research & Development center in Vietnam. The new facility will be in Hanoi and will cost the company $300 million.

The Vietnamese government has agreed to give Samsung the land to build its R&D center without having to pay rent for the next 50 year

Apple to Completely Revamp iPhone Lineup in 2017



Apple is planning a complete revamp of its iPhone lineup in 2017 to a glass design similar to the iPhone 4 with an AMOLED display, reports KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.


Possible Yu Yureka Plus successor spotted in import listing


Indian company YU seems to be working on a new device and, form the looks of things, it appears to be a successor to the Yureka Plus. The mysterious device was spotted on Zauba, entering India from China. The officially provided model number for the unit is YU5200 and, as usual, the listing comes with some basics specs as well.

Production cost of AMOLED screens is now lower than LCD's


According to an analysis done by IHS Technology, AMOLED screen production cost is now lower than that of LCD screens. Production costs in the first quarter of the year for a 5" 1080p display amount to $14.30 for an AMOLED panel compared to $14.60 for an LCD one.

iOS 9 Adoption Reaches 79%



Adoption of iOS 9 has slightly increased to 79%, as measured by the App Store on March 7th. 16% of users are still on iOS 8 and 5% are on an even lower firmware version.

Apple just announced the iPhone SE with a 4" display. The phone features a body almost identical to the iPhone 5 and 5s, but features the latest gen Apple A9 chip with a dual-core 1.85 GHz Twister processor and PowerVR GT7600 six-core graphics. The 4" display rocks a resolution 1136x640 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of 326 ppi. The iPhone SE also features Retina Flash, which momentarily makes the screen three times brighter when you take a selfie.

Four million Mi 5 units sold in the first flash sale


Xiaomi announced the Mi 5 flagship at the MWC a few days ago, and it  became one of the most anticipated smartphones this year. The first flash sale in China sold 4 million units in no time and registered more than 17 million interest entries. The second flash sale is scheduled for March 8 (10 AM Beijing time) and is expected to sell at least as many phones.

Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 3 in India


Xiaomi today announced the Redmi Note 3 for the Indian market. The phone is priced at INR 9,999 ($148) for the 16GB model, and INR 11,999 ($178) for the 32GB model. The Redmi Note 3 for India runs on the brand new Snapdragon 650 SoC and 2GB of RAM on the 16GB model and 3GB RAM on the 32GB model. I
